What we’re studying in regards to the new-look Jets from OTAs
The Jets have had three OTA practices this spring that had been open to the media. Which means it’s time for some early observations.
Now, let me warning you about how I really feel about OTAs. There’s not a lot to see in these classes that can have any bearing on wins and losses within the fall. It’s extra about seeing the brand new gamers and coaches for the primary time and getting a really feel for what the staff’s depth is.
Evaluating gamers is foolish at the moment of 12 months. Former Jets coach Todd Bowles used to love to say, “They’re in shorts,” when requested about how gamers appeared within the spring, that means everybody seems good in shorts. It doesn’t at all times translate when the pads come on.
That being stated, I do have some takeaways from what I’ve seen thus far. Right here we go:
